Job summary

Unite People are recruiting an experienced General Foreman for a six-month civil engineering contract. You will oversee day-to-day site operations, with a focus on earthworks and piling, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification and in line with the programme.

You will coordinate labour, plant and subcontractors, run toolbox talks, monitor progress and maintain records. The role demands strong leadership, good communication and a solid understanding of RAMS and site safety.

Qualifications

• General Foreman with civil engineering project experience.
• Proven oversight of earthworks and piling operations.
• Strong knowledge of plant movements, site logistics and safety.
• CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS and First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise earthworks and piling activities, coordinating labour, plant and subcontractors.
• Plan daily works and manage interfaces between earthworks teams and piling contractors.
• Monitor progress, quality and productivity, reporting to the site management team.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, RAMS and site safety procedures.
• Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks.
• Maintain site records and identify issues that could affect delivery.
