The Role:

We’re looking for a Football Finance Manager to support the financial management of our Men’s and Women’s football departments. You’ll play a key role in financial planning, reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making across a range of football operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage departmental P&Ls for both Men’s and Women’s football, including month-end close, weekly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Partner closely with football stakeholders on operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide financial support to the Academy and Women’s Football, working collaboratively with Legal, HR, and Football Administration teams.
  • Contribute to the wider Football Finance team, including football finance reporting and submissions.
  • Prepare year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
  • Support Research and Development efforts across short- and long-term football investment projects.
  • Take on ad hoc duties or projects as directed by the Finance Director – Commercial, Football and Group Planning.

The Person:

We’re looking for a qualified, proactive, and commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

You’ll need to have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification with relevant post-qualification experience
  • Experience in a professional sports club environment (preferred)
  • Excellent Excel skills; Power BI experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of organisational ability
  • Clear commercial acumen and the ability to simplify complex information
  • Confidence in both written and verbal communication
  • The ability to quickly build strong relationships across teams
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
  • Resilience under pressure, with a calm and collaborative approach
  • A flexible, adaptable attitude – ready to thrive in a high-energy, fast-moving setting
