Job summary

Midlands Football Development Centre in Desford, Leicestershire, is seeking a Lead Football Coach to deliver engaging, high-standard training sessions for boys and girls aged U7–U16. You will lead sessions, support player growth and help foster a positive coaching culture that reflects our values.

You will plan sessions, provide feedback to players and parents, and work with fellow coaches to develop session plans and safeguarding practices. FA Level 1 or above and DBS clearance are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and lead dynamic football coaching sessions for players aged U7–U16.

• Support the development of session plans, themes and coaching content with other coaches.

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and professional Lead Football Coach to join our team and help deliver engaging, high-standard training sessions at our development centres. You will lead sessions, support player growth, and contribute to a positive coaching culture that reflects our values.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and lead dynamic football coaching sessions for players aged U7–U16.
• Create a positive, fun and challenging learning environment that focuses on technique, game understanding and player development.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, participation and enjoyment at all times.
• Provide constructive feedback to players and engage effectively with parents.
• Support the development of session plans, themes and coaching content alongside other coaches.
• Maintain a safe coaching environment and adhere to safeguarding policies.

Person Specification

Essential

Desirable

• FA coaching qualification (e.g., FA Level 1 or above).
• Experience in youth development or academy environments.
