Job summary

CER is seeking a passionate Food Technology Teacher for a part-time role in Sheffield. You will deliver engaging lessons to secondary students, plan and assess in line with the national curriculum, and foster a positive learning environment.

The successful candidate will hold QTS or PGCE, have secondary Food Tech experience, and demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills. An enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to obtain one is required.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school on a 3-day-per-week basis, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students while enjoying a flexible working pattern, with a long-term contract available for the successful candidate.

The Role

As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons to secondary-aged students.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
• Support students in developing key practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge and safe food preparation techniques.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support where needed.
• Maintain high standards of classroom management and health & safety within practical learning environments.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A passion for education and helping students achieve their potential.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
