Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Sunderland area. You will deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 lessons, focusing on practical cooking, food science and nutrition to help students develop practical skills and healthy lifestyles.

The role is long-term with potential to become full-time, offering stability and opportunities for professional development within a collaborative Design Technology department.

Formación

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3/KS4.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, nutrition and health & safety.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

The Role

As a Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging, hands‑on lessons across KS3 and KS4. You'll support students in developing practical cooking skills, understanding food science and nutrition, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering practical cooking lessons alongside food theory
• Promoting food hygiene, safety, and health & safety standards
• Supporting students' practical, evaluative, and nutritional understandings
• Planning differentiated lessons to meet a range of abilities
• Managing food rooms, equipment, and resources effectively
• Working collaboratively within the Design Technology department

Requirements

To be considered for this Food Technology Teacher role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and/or KS4

• Confident classroom and practical lesson management skills
• A passion for Food Technology and student wellbeing
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

This role is suitable for experienced teachers, ECTs, or DT specialists with a Food Technology background.
