Job summary

Smile Education is seeking a qualified Food Technology Teacher for a long-term placement in Oldham. The role covers KS3 and KS4 within the Design & Technology department, including both practical and theory lessons. You will support GCSE preparation and uphold high standards of safety and hygiene.

QTS is required, with DBS checks in place. The position starts ASAP and offers a stable, long-term opportunity in a secondary school.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Food Technology within a UK secondary school is required.
• Strong knowledge of KS3 and KS4 Food curriculum is essential.
• Experience preparing pupils for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition is desirable.
• Confidence managing practical lessons safely and effectively.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential.
• ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one; right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship not available.

Food Technology Teacher - Oldham - £170–£235 per day | ASAP start | Long-term

Smile Education are recruiting for a qualified Food Technology Teacher to work within a secondary school in Oldham.

The Role

As a Food Technology Teacher, you will teach Food Preparation and Nutrition across KS3 and KS4 as part of the wider Design & Technology curriculum. You will plan and deliver practical lessons, develop pupils’ understanding of nutrition, food preparation and safe working practices, and support students towards strong outcomes at GCSE.

• Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Food curriculum is essential.
• Experience preparing pupils for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition is highly desirable.
• You must be confident managing practical lessons safely and effectively.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential.
• ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
• You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
• You must have the full right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available.
