Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a passionate Food Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Bury St Edmunds from January 2027. You would be the sole Food Technology teacher, delivering across KS3-4 and supporting GCSE coursework.

This full-time, long-term temporary role offers an opportunity to take responsibility for the subject with support from the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary setting.
• Ability to plan engaging lessons and assess student progress.
• Proven capability to support GCSE Food coursework and NEA assessments.

Responsibilities

• Teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Deliver GCSE Food lessons and supervise coursework.
• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons, and assess student progress.
• Mark work and provide feedback.
• Support NEA assessments and contribute to wider school life.
• Collaborate with Head of Faculty and maintain independent teaching.

Those that can teach 4 or 5 days per week, considered.Tradewind Recruitment are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Food Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in the Bury St Edmunds area from January 2027.This is a great opportunity for a Food Technology specialist to take responsibility for the subject across the school, with support from the wider leadership team.

The Role

• Teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessonsTeach GCSE Food and support students through their coursework and assessmentsPlan, prepare and deliver lessons effectivelyMark students' work and assess progressSupport students with their NEA assessmentsWork alongside the Head of Faculty, who will provide supportContribute to the wider life of the school

You would be the sole Food Technology teacher, so this role would suit someone who is confident working independently and has a good understanding of the GCSE Food curriculum.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has QTS or relevant teaching experienceHas experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary settingHas experience delivering GCSE FoodUnderstands the requirements of NEA assessmentCan plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessonsIs confident managing a classroom and supporting students' progressIs enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about their subject
