Job summary

Orchard Hill College is seeking a dedicated Food Technician to support the Food Technology department, ensuring resources and equipment are ready for lessons and activities. You will assist teachers and students, promoting a positive and safe learning environment.

The role requires experience with pupils, SEN support, teamwork, and strong organisational skills to manage materials and classroom priorities effectively.

Qualifications

• GCSE in English and Maths is required.
• Experience of working with children with special needs.
• Experience of supporting pupils and students to develop kitchen-related functional skills.
• Experience of working as part of a team.
• Ability to manage behaviour in the classroom.
• Ability to organise and prioritise work and resources.

Responsibilities

• Support the Teacher in the Food Technology Department and, if required, in other areas of the school where food and cooking are taught or in areas where there is particular focus on functional skills.
• Support for pupils and students
• Administration and Management of Resources
• Preparation of materials and equipment for Food Technology lessons.
• Maintain Food Technology equipment, areas and services in good order.
