Job summary

Philosophy Education LTD. is assisting Greenwich Secondary School in hiring a Food Technician for an immediate start on a temporary basis.

The role involves supporting delivery of Food Technology across KS3 to KS5, setting up practicals and ensuring equipment is prepared and safe under supervision. The ideal candidate has a Food background, attention to detail and a good understanding of health and safety in school kitchens.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing and setting up practical Food Technology lessons.
• Background in Food and DBS (Enhanced DBS on update service or willing to obtain one).
• Ability to support KS3–KS5 lessons and assist staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering Food Technology lessons across KS3–KS5.
• Set up practical lessons and prepare equipment under supervision.
• Maintain high health and safety standards in the kitchen environment.
• Support teachers during classes when required.

The role - Food Technician

As a Food technician, you will be assisting teaching staff in the delivery of Food Technology lessons across KS3. KS4 and KS5. You will be involved in setting up practical lessons, including equipment preparation under the direction of the Senior Food Technician or Food technology teacher. You should have excellent attention to detail and a good understanding of health and safety practices when working within a Kitchen. Whilst the core of your role will be involved preparation and tidying up of the equipment, you may be required to assist in lessons as well.
