Qualifications

• Hold a level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
• Have level 2 Maths and English (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
• Be a hands-on individual with experience of operating modern Food / Dairy Technology equipment.
• An understanding of practices intrinsic to a modern food manufacturing environment which operates to leading edge standards of GMP.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and an understanding of Dairy and Food manufacturing practices.
• Experience working within a food production, food technology, manufacturing, or practical learning environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support both staff and students in a practical setting.

Responsibilities

• Support learning and other activities which occur in the Processing Halls, through the preparation of materials and equipment, setting up of practical sessions, operating equipment, and cleaning.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, ensuring compliance with GMP, allergen controls, and health and safety requirements.
• Provide technical support to staff and students, assisting with practical learning activities, food processing operations, and commercial trial work.
• Contribute to the effective operation of the processing halls, including stock control, housekeeping, customer visits, events, and the promotion of products manufactured within the Food Centre.
