Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician for a fast-paced dairy environment in Tewkesbury. You will conduct sampling and testing, record results accurately and support HACCP and safety procedures.

The position offers a 37.5-hour week, weekday and weekend shifts, with a temp-to-perm path after 12 weeks and competitive hourly pay. You will join a supportive technical team focused on quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience, preferably within food or dairy manufacturing.
• Understanding of standard laboratory practices and accurate record keeping.
• Knowledge of microbiology, food hygiene and food safety principles.
• GCSEs in English, Maths and Science.
• A-Level or equivalent in Biology or Chemistry would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Sampling and testing raw milk and pasteurised dairy products.
• Carrying out microbiological, chemical and compositional testing using aseptic technique.
• Accurately recording and interpreting laboratory results.
• Monitoring HACCP controls and supporting food safety compliance.
• Completing water testing and customer Certificates of Analysis.
• Keeping laboratory areas clean, tidy and compliant.
• Following COSHH, Health & Safety, Food Safety and Good Laboratory Practice procedures.
• Working closely with the Laboratory Manager and Technical team.
• Undertake any other reasonable laboratory duties to support the efficient operation of the department.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our technical team in a modern, clean FMCG environment in Tewkesbury. You will help ensure our dairy products meet quality, food safety and legal standards.
LOCATION: Tewkesbury Industrial Estate

PAY: £ 12.05 per hour

HOURS: 37.5 per week

WORKING PATTERN

Weekdays:

Weekday shifts rotate between 05:30, 06:00, 07:00 & 12:00

Saturday:

Saturday at 08:00, Sunday at 06:00

Additional Information:

Saturday shifts consist of the following times, with approx. 1 Saturday off a month.
Sunday shifts are 06:00-18:00 (approx. once every 6-8 weeks).
03:00-11:00
05:30-13:30
06:00-14:00
07:00-15:00
Midday - end of production
DURATION: Temp to Perm after 12 weeks

What you will be doing

What we are looking for

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous laboratory experience, preferably within food or dairy manufacturing

• Knowledge of microbiology, food hygiene and food safety principles
• Knowledge of laboratory practices, food safety, HACCP or microbiology
• GCSEs or equivalent in English, Maths and Science
• A-Level or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry or a related subject would be advantageous

Experience is not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates who are reliable, accurate and keen to develop their skills.
