Job summary

Unity Schools Partnership seeks a part-time Food and Nutrition Technician for Samuel Ward Academy. The role supports the Food & Nutrition department, helping students develop practical skills, creativity and confidence through hands-on activities.

You will work 20 hours per week across 5 days, 38 weeks per year, preparing resources and ensuring safety in a busy learning environment. Training will be provided, and a supportive team offers professional development and staff wellbeing.

Job description

Contract: Permanent, Part-time (20 hours per week/ 38 weeks per year)

Samuel Ward Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised Food and Nutrition Technician to join our successful Food and Nutrition department on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to support our students as they develop practical skills, creativity and confidence through the study of Food and Nutrition.

Working closely with the classroom teacher, you will prepare ingredients, equipment and learning resources, maintain a safe and organised learning environment, and provide effective technical support for lessons.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, a positive and flexible approach, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Previous experience in a food preparation, catering or educational setting would be advantageous, although training will be provided. The hours will be 20 a week spread over 5 days.
