Job summary

Academics Agency in Doncaster is seeking a skilled Food Technology HLTA / SEN Cover Supervisor to work across SEN and mainstream schools. This role combines practical catering expertise with classroom teaching to support students with additional needs.

The ideal candidate will have HLTA status (or Level 4/5), an Enhanced DBS, and strong references. Temporary, term-time only with competitive daily pay and opportunities for professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• HLTA status (or equivalent Level 4/5 qualification) – Food Technology specialization desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Two professional references confirming experience in education or food-based settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class teaching and cover PPA time with engaging Food Technology lessons.
• Cover pre-planned lessons across other subjects during teacher absence to ensure continuity.
• Deliver targeted SEN interventions and adapt Food Tech resources for pupils with EHCPs; track progress with SENCOs.
• Promote health, safety and hygiene in practical settings while fostering independence in the kitchen.
