Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Assistant at Churcher's College, Ramshill, Petersfield. The role involves supporting catering operations, maintaining a clean, safe kitchen, and working behind the scenes with chefs and front‑of‑house during lunch service.

This part‑time position requires reliability, team spirit and the ability to work Saturdays 9am‑4pm, with term‑time only scheduling. Salary is £13.60 per hour, paid as equated monthly pay distribution.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality service according to schedules and procedures.

• Implement cleaning schedules to agreed standards.
• Wear correct uniform and promote a professional image.

• Keep front and back of house storage and equipment clean.
• Follow safety checks and complete Near Miss cards.

We're currently recruiting a Food Service Assistant to support our catering operations at Churcher's College, Ramshill, Petersfield, Hants. GU31 4AS.

As a Food Service Assistant, you'll play a vital role behind the scenes, helping to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. You'll be working closely with our chefs and front-of-house team to ensure everything runs smoothly.

What You'll Do:

• To ensure you are working to maintain and deliver a quality service according to set work schedules and procedures
• To undertake the monitoring of quality control systems e.g. job sign off sheets and schedules
• To ensure all aspects of the preparation of food service areas and presentation of food is to the notified standard.
• To work either front facing serving pupils and staff or in the dish wash room throughout lunch service.
• To ensure you attend the daily service briefing if serving on the counter
• To implement cleaning schedules to agreed standards
• To ensure you are in the correct uniform and promote a good company image
• To ensure the promotion of a good company image to customers and guests by using positive service practices
• To ensure all front and back of house food storage and equipment are kept clean, hygienic and maintained.
• To ensure you are working in a safe way and follow the 3 checks for safety and are completing Near Miss cards
