Job summary

Sodexo at Hurstpierpoint College is hiring a Food Service Assistant to support daily catering operations and events. The role involves preparing service areas, presenting food to high standards, and delivering a quality catering service to students, staff and visitors.

Shifts include evenings and Saturday daytime, 18–30 hours per week with a 5/6 day pattern. Enjoy a dynamic team environment with training and uniform provided.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food service areas and present food to high standards.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic front and back of house areas.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and food safety procedures.
  • Assist with setting up and serving hospitality and catering events.
  • Attend daily service briefings and support smooth service delivery.
  • Complete quality checks and maintain service records where required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and report incidents or risks.
  • Support special events and functions as required

Contract: Perm - Part Time

Position: Food Service Assistant

Location: Hurstpierpoint College, College Lane, Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks

Salary: £13.01 per hour

Days per week: 5 out of 6 (Monday to Saturday) - evenings and Saturday daytime, with various shift patterns available

Hours: 18 to 30 hours per week - variable and flexible

Working Pattern: Tuesday and Thursday 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday 10:00am - 6:00pm, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 4:00pm - 8:00pm
