Job summary

Delano London is opening in late 2026, inviting you to join the pre-opening Food & Beverage team as a Food Runner. You will play a crucial role in the rhythm of service, ensuring dishes reach guests quickly and accurately while learning the menu and allergens to assist guests confidently.

Work closely with restaurant and culinary teams, support with mise en place, service flow, and room service when required, all within a global group known for creativity and culture.

Qualifications

• Energetic and attentive; capable of working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn menu details, ingredients, and allergens.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to learn service sequences quickly.
• Flexible to work breakfast, evenings, weekends, and key hospitality moments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food from kitchen to tables promptly and accurately.
• Learn the menu, ingredients and allergens to answer guest questions.
• Coordinate with pass, waiters and managers to maintain pacing and communication.
• Check plates for presentation and accuracy before leaving the pass.
• Assist with pre-service mise en place and end-of-service breakdown and cleaning.
• Keep service stations, trays and equipment clean and stocked.
• Support other Food & Beverage areas when required.
• Follow food safety, Health & Safety and company standards.

Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Food Runner to join the pre-opening team of Delano London. Working closely with the restaurant and Culinary teams, you'll play a crucial role in the rhythm of service, ensuring every dish reaches the right guest quickly, accurately and beautifully.

What you'll do...

• Deliver food from the kitchen to the correct table and guest promptly, confidently and with accurate dish identification.
• Learn the menu, key ingredients and allergens so you can announce dishes clearly and answer basic guest questions.
• Coordinate closely with the pass, waiters and managers to maintain strong pacing and communication throughout service.
• Check plates for presentation and accuracy before leaving the pass and immediately flag any concerns.
• Support table maintenance, clearing, resetting, water service and other floor tasks as required.
• Keep service stations, trays and equipment clean, organised and fully stocked.
• Assist with pre-service mise en place and end-of-service breakdown and cleaning.
• Pay close attention to allergies, dietary requirements, VIPs and table numbers and follow all communication procedures.
• Support Room Service, Private Dining and other Food & Beverage areas when required.
• Follow food safety, Health & Safety and company standards at all times.

Qualifications

What we're looking for...

• You are energetic, attentive and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Previous experience as a runner or in hospitality is useful but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are equally important.
• You communicate clearly and enjoy working as part of a close team.
• You have strong attention to detail and can learn table numbers, dishes and service sequences quickly.
• You remain calm and positive under pressure and take pride in doing the small things well.
• You are flexible to work breakfast, evenings, weekends and key hospitality moments.
