Job summary

Greencore is recruiting for a shift role at Consett, working Monday to Friday with rotating 07:00–15:00 and 15:00–23:00 shifts. Pay rate is £13.28 per hour. You will maintain quality by performing line checks, weighing meals, and ensuring traceability and hygiene standards are met.

Full training is provided. The role emphasizes attention to detail, problem solving, and teamwork in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
• Attention to detail and accuracy essential
• Good time management and organisation
• Excellent literacy and numeracy for traceability records
• Problem solving and proactive approach
• Good communicator and team worker
• Allergen awareness is desirable

Responsibilities

• Carry out weight checks for meals to customer specs using calibrated weights
• Monitor sauce temperatures and visual appearance; report discrepancies
• Set up and calibrate the check-weighing machine and inform operators of product specs
• Code meals with day code, product code, line number and batch post heat-seal
• Maintain traceability paperwork aligned with customer specifications
• Complete daily toolbox checks and report issues promptly
• Follow food hygiene and Health & Safety standards and adapt to schedule changes
• Support other tasks as required
