Job summary

Chesterfield Poultry in Doncaster is seeking a Production Manager (Food) to oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring products are made safely, efficiently, on time, and in compliance with quality standards.

The role requires leadership of line teams, adherence to HACCP/GMP and ISO/FSCC where applicable, and proactive management of scheduling, waste reduction, and KPI reporting. Salary up to £50K depending on experience, permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in food manufacturing and dispatch operations.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Leadership and people management skills.
• Understanding of production and dispatch planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production and dispatch operations to meet targets.
• Ensure OEE, yield, and efficiency targets are achieved.
• Coordinate with QA to ensure HACCP, GMP, and ISO/FSCC compliance.
• Lead line leaders and production staff; conduct shift briefings.
• Control inventory and reduce waste; ensure timely outloads.
• Maintain production reports and KPIs such as downtime and OTIS.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and report breakdowns.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles where applicable.
