Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking an experienced Food Manager to lead daily operations in one of our busy stores in Gloucester. You will coach teams, drive high standards, and ensure excellent customer service while delivering on KPIs.

You will manage people, scheduling, and performance, maintaining compliance, and occasionally take overall responsibility for running the store to meet customer needs. A proactive leader with retail experience is ideal.

Qualifications

• Track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and coaching others.
• Experience leading teams in dynamic, customer-facing environments.
• Leadership in high-volume, fast-paced retail, food service, or hospitality.
• Proven delivery of KPIs across sales, stock, and customer satisfaction.
• Experience handling complex people matters with fairness.

Responsibilities

• Role modelling and coaching for high standards and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with processes while delivering customer service.
• Ensure customers get the food they want, making us first choice.
• People management, performance, disciplinaries, scheduling and pay.
• Occasionally run the store and provide direction to staff.
