Job summary

Maldron Hotel Liverpool, part of Dalata Hotel Group, is centrally located in Liverpool city centre and invites you to join as a Food & Beverage Assistant. You will receive training through our Dalata Academy and work under the Food & Beverage Manager to deliver friendly, high-quality service.

As part of the team, you will be responsible for taking and serving orders, upselling, and maintaining a welcoming dining environment. We value development and promote from within as you grow with us.

Qualifications

• Fluent English and high standard communication required.
• Experience in fast-paced hotel or restaurant environments.
• Excellent guest service and upselling abilities.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to shifts.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and serve a wide range of beverages and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Assist with taking orders and running food during service.
• Upsell drinks and menu items to enhance guest experience.
• Maintain bar and dining area cleanliness and stock.
• Work with team to ensure efficient service during busy periods.

Food & Beverage Assistant

You will receive training through our Dalata Academy to help you learn important skills. You will also meet experienced team members who can help you grow.

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager and the Operations Manager, the Food and Beverage Assistant will provide friendly and efficient service to the hotel guests.

Your Job

• Regular guests are known and greeted accordingly, using their names.
• Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beers, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks to a high standard.
• Confidently recommend drinks and menu items, making suggestions that enhance the overall dining experience.
• Support restaurant service by taking orders, running food, and ensuring guests are well looked after throughout their visit.
• Upsell effectively across both food and beverage, promoting specials, cocktails, and upgrades to maximise revenue.
• Maintain strong knowledge of the food menu as well as drinks, including allergens and pairings.
• Ensure responsible service of alcohol at all times.
• Work closely with the wider team to deliver smooth, efficient service during busy periods.
• Take ownership of your section, ensuring the bar and service areas are clean, organised, and fully stocked.
• Handle payments accurately using the till system, ensuring all orders are processed correctly.
• Support with opening and closing duties, including set-up, cleaning, and stock control.
• Contribute to a positive team culture, bringing energy, teamwork, and a can-do attitude every shift.

What You'll Need

• Previous experience is essential.
• Flexibility in working hours as the role includes mornings/evenings & weekends
• Previous experience in a high-volume/fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
• Micros experience would be preferable.
• Experience in a hotel is preferable.
