Job summary

The Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking Food and Beverage Assistants to help deliver exceptional service across outlets including Rooftop Restaurant, cafés, terrace and theatre bars.

These are flexible, part-time roles with variable hours, evenings and weekends. Reporting to the Food and Beverage Management team, you will greet customers, serve food and drinks, maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety, and support events.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers and take responsibility for a section of the restaurant, café or bar.
• Serve food and drinks across outlets.
• Maintain high presentation standards for each service.
• Receive and check deliveries, ensure safe handling and storage.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment following food hygiene and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with kitchen and events teams to ensure smooth service.
• Support with delivery of functions and events.

We are looking for Food and Beverage Assistants to join our team, helping to deliver exceptional food and beverage services across our outlets, including the Rooftop Restaurant, cafés, terrace and theatre bars. Whether welcoming guests attending a world-class performance, enjoying a meal in our Rooftop Restaurant, or joining us for a special event, you'll play an important role in making every visit memorable.

These are variable hours positions which help us support busy trading periods and special events throughout the year. We are looking for people who can work flexibly across a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Management team, key areas of responsibility include:

• Greeting and welcoming customers and taking responsibility for a section of the restaurant, café or bar.
• Serving food and drinks across all outlets.
• Ensuring areas are presented to a high standard for each service.
• Receiving and checking deliveries, ensuring safe handling and storage.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment – following food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Working collaboratively with the kitchen and other teams to ensure smooth service.
• Supporting with the delivery of functions and events.

We are looking for people who:

• Deliver friendly, welcoming and efficient service to guests.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across front of house, kitchen and events teams.
• Understand basic food hygiene and safety regulations (training provided).
• Are reliable and take responsibility for assigned areas and tasks.
• Have a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Are adaptable and respond positively to changing menus, service styles and event requirements.
