Job summary

William Strike Ltd in Woodmansey Garden Centre is seeking a Part-Time Temporary Front of House Assistant for our restaurant. The role offers an hourly rate of £10.40–£12.75, working 18 hours per week over 3 days, with weekend shifts involved.

Temporary position until December 2026, with responsibilities spanning customer service, food and beverage service, and cash handling. Training will be provided for barista duties, and a friendly, team-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented with a friendly personality.
• Barista experience preferred but training will be given.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain front of house and counters to company standards.
• Present menus, take orders, and upsell food and beverages.
• Provide counter service and prepare beverages.
• Deliver meals to tables and ensure timely service.
• Prepare restaurant tables with hygiene and cleanliness.
• Process payments at electronic tills.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed.
• Close front of house areas at end of day.
• Assist with back of house duties if required.

We are looking for a Part Time Temporary Front of House Assistant to join the team in our Restaurant in Woodmansey Garden Centre.

Our competitive rate of pay ranges from £10.40 to £12.75 per Hour dependent on age.

The hours for this role are 18 per week over 3days. This will involve weekend work so flexibility is a must.

This is a temporary role until December 2026.

The Role

As a Front of House Assistant, you have a responsibility to provide excellent customer service, take orders, and serve our fantastic food and drinks to our customer. You will need to have full knowledge of the food and beverage menus and will work closely with your FOH and kitchen teams to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly.

What you will be doing as a Front of House Assistant?

• Set up and maintain the front of house and counters each day to our company standards
• Presenting menus, serving, and helping customers select food and beverage by offering suggestions
• Providing Counter Service and preparing beverages.
• Deliver our Chef prepared meals to customers at their tables
• Preparing restaurant tables with special attention to hygiene and cleanliness
• Processing payment at electronic till points
• Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed
• Closing front of house areas each day to our company standards
• May be required to assistwith back of house duties
