Job summary

KLONDYKE GROUP LIMITED in Houghton Hall Garden Centre is looking for Part Time Permanent Front of House Assistants to join our restaurant team. You will provide excellent customer service, take orders, and serve meals and drinks while knowing the menu.

Roles involve weekend work, flexibility, and teamwork with FOH and kitchen staff. We offer generous pay (£10.40–£12.75 per hour), staff discounts, health plans, and 6 weeks annual leave.

Qualifications

• Provide excellent customer service and knowledge of food and beverage menus.
• Walk customers through menu options and upsell where appropriate.
• Work closely with FOH and kitchen teams to ensure smooth restaurant operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain front of house daily to company standards.
• Present menus, take orders, serve food and beverages.
• Provide counter service and prepare beverages.
• Deliver Chef-prepared meals to customers at tables.
• Prepare restaurant tables with hygiene and cleanliness.
• Process payments at till points.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed.
• Close front of house areas at end of shift.
• May assist with back of house duties.

We are looking for Part Time Permanent Front of House Assistants to join the team in our Restaurant in Houghton Hall Garden Centre.

Our competitive rate of pay ranges from £10.40 to £12.75 per Hour dependent on age.

Roles available are 24 hours per week over 3 days & 16 per week over 3 days. All positions involve weekend work so flexibility is a must.

The Role

As a Front of House Assistant, you have a responsibility to provide excellent customer service, take orders, and serve our fantastic food and drinks to our customer. You will need to have full knowledge of the food and beverage menus and will work closely with your FOH and kitchen teams to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly.

What you will be doing as a Front of House Assistant?

• Set up and maintain the front of house and counters each day to our company standards
• Presenting menus, serving, and helping customers select food and beverage by offering suggestions
• Providing Counter Service and preparing beverages.
• Deliver our Chef prepared meals to customers at their tables
• Preparing restaurant tables with special attention to hygiene and cleanliness
• Processing payment at electronic till points
• Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed
• Closing front of house areas each day to our company standards
• May be required to assist with back of house duties
