Job summary

CDS Labour are recruiting an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer for a well-established seafood processing and manufacturing business near Roche, Cornwall. The role is hands-on, maintaining production equipment and responding to breakdowns to keep the site safe and productive.

Working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with shifts starting as early as 05:30 or between 07:00 and 08:00. A competitive salary range (£40,000-£50,000) is offered depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance/engineering role in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Some electrical maintenance experience and diagnostic ability.
• Experience with Multivac machinery is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Responding quickly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.
• Maintaining Multivac packaging equipment and other food-processing machinery.
• Minimising downtime and improving equipment reliability.
• Carrying out routine inspections, servicing and safety checks.
• Assisting with machinery installations, upgrades and commissioning.
• Identifying recurring faults and proposing long-term solutions.
• Collaborating with production teams to resolve engineering issues.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting work carried out.
• Managing spare parts and reporting replacement needs.
• Following food hygiene, health and safety site procedures.
• Providing occasional weekend support with time off in lieu.
