Job summary

IPL, Forza & Kober are seeking a Maintenance Engineer for our on-site team at the Normanton protein site. The role covers breakdowns, planned maintenance, and site utilities, with a focus on uptime and safety across shift patterns.

You will work with contractors, record keepings, and contribute to cost reductions while maintaining high engineering standards in a dynamic FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification with extensive additional mechanical ability/experience.
• ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical.
• PLC Programming/Diagnostic Knowledge.
• Qualified to 17th edition wiring regulations.
• Proven FMCG work experience.
• Work with and install single /three phase electrical circuits.
• Effective communication skills with confidence to challenge and question.
• Flexible and self-motivated.
• Positive attitude to work and a can do attitude.
• Ability to be logical and analytical.

Responsibilities

• Attend breakdowns promptly and make repairs to a world class standard.
• Record and book out parts used and diagnostics of each breakdown.
• Complete regular machine maintenance programmes to reduce downtime and complete paperwork.
• Identify ways to maximise machine uptime via maintenance schedules.
• Work in a clean, safe environment and ensure safety practices are followed.
• Liaise with contractors and monitor them through the PTW system on site.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on buildings, facilities, utilities, site plant and equipment.
• Make clear recommendations to managers for productivity gains and cost reductions.
• Optimise the use of company resources per policies and procedures.
