Job summary

Our client, a family-owned FMCG manufacturer in Suffolk, is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to uphold plant reliability and reduce downtime. You will perform PPM, diagnose faults, and drive improvements in a fast-paced automated environment.

The role requires hands-on problem-solving, strong electrical skills, and experience with CMMS. A full UK driving licence is essential, with benefits including pension and on-call pay.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical background with multi-skilled capability.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proven fault-finding on automated equipment.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with problem-solving ability.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in FMCG/food manufacturing.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency and cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across electrical and mechanical systems
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise disruption to production
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Food Safety standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using internal systems
• Provide first-line support for machinery and site services
• Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
• Work closely with management to enhance reliability and performance
