Job summary

Recruit4staff are representing a well-established materials handling equipment business in Carlisle. The FLT Service Engineer will service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and lifting equipment, with occasional travel to local sites.

A competitive salary is offered with a £100 call-out bonus, plus company van for personal use and 28 days’ holiday. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with potential variations for customer needs.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic servicing experience suitable for an FLT Service Engineer working on materials handling or similar equipment
• Level 3 Engineering qualification
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Servicing, planned maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks and other lifting equipment
• Run diagnostics and safety checks; identify faults and repair or replace components
• Order replacement parts and complete maintenance paperwork/job sheets; travel to local sites as needed

Job Details:

• Pay: £36,000–£42,000 per annum (plus £100 call-out bonus)
• Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. Hours may vary subject to occasional customer requirements
• Duration: Permanent

Job Role:

As the FLT Service Engineer, you will carry out servicing, planned maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks and other types of lifting equipment. The FLT Service Engineer will run diagnostics and safety checks, identify faults and repair or replace electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components. The FLT Service Engineer will also order replacement parts when required, complete maintenance paperwork and job sheets, and occasionally travel to other local customer sites.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic servicing experience suitable for an FLT Service Engineer working on materials handling or similar equipment
• Level 3 Engineering qualification
• Full UK driving licence

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• A Level 3 Engineering qualification specifically related to vehicles, powered access equipment, plant equipment or a similar discipline would be advantageous for the FLT Service Engineer
