Job summary

Recruit4staff is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover the North West, visiting customer sites to service and repair forklift trucks and material-handling equipment.

You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and provide after-sales support. A company van, overtime, and pension accompany the role with essential mechanical qualifications and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Essential: C&G/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and driving licence.
• Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance on forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities across mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites to service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and equipment.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown work.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and software faults and provide solutions.
• Provide technical support and after-sales assistance as required.

Recruit4staff are representing a well-established material handling solutions provider in their search for a Field Service Engineer to work across the North West.

Job Role: Attending customer sites to carry out service, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment. The role involves both preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown work, including diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and software faults. You will also provide technical support and after-sales assistance to customers as required.

Job Details:

• Pay: Up to £36,000 per annum
• Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 8:30am - 5pm
• Duration: Permanent
• Overtime paid at enhanced rates (x1.5 and x2)
• £100 call out bonus
• Travel paid door to door
• Company pension
• £15,000 insurance cover on your tools
• PDA, phone, laptop and specialist tools provided
• Company van with personal use allowed
• Strong knowledge of forklift trucks and material handling equipment
• Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
• Mechanical and electrical service and maintenance experience
• Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance work
• Good ICT skills with strong written and verbal communication

Essential Qualifications:

• C&G/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Driving licence

Desired Qualifications:

• Pyroban (ATEX) rated trucks qualification
• FLT licence
• Electrical Engineering qualifications
