Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking an FLT Operative / Warehouse Operative for its chilled food manufacturing operations in Thorne. You will ensure packaging readiness, move goods to storage, and load/unload deliveries using an FLT. The role demands attention to GMP standards and strict food safety procedures.

Shift options include PM or Nights, with corresponding hourly rates. We value reliability, teamwork, and a proactive approach to keeping production flowing smoothly.

Qualifications

• Counterbalance FLT licence is required.
• Previous warehouse experience is preferred.
• Able to work in hot and cold environments (chilled and frozen).
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible attitude.

Responsibilities

• Ensure packaging is available for upcoming production.
• Move finished goods to storage (chilled or frozen).
• Load and unload vehicles using an FLT when required.
• Check incoming raw materials and store correctly.
• Enter stock into the stock control system.
• Carry out daily FLT safety checks.
• Prepare customer orders for despatch.
• Maintain high GMP standards and keep area tidy.
• Follow HACCP, COSHH, and PPE procedures.

We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hands-on FLT Operative / Warehouse Operative to join our busy team in Thorne.

You’ll play a key role in keeping our operation moving – making sure production has the packaging it needs, finished products are stored correctly, orders are picked and ready for despatch, and deliveries are loaded and unloaded safely.

As we work within food manufacturing, quality, food safety and attention to detail are at the heart of everything we do.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 13.45-21.45 or Sunday to Thursday 21:45 -05:45

What will you be doing?

• Making sure the boxing area has the packaging it needs for upcoming production runs and throughout the shift.
• Moving finished goods safely from the boxing area into chilled or frozen storage.
• Loading and unloading vehicles using an FLT when required.
• Checking incoming raw material deliveries and placing them into the correct storage locations.
• Accurately entering stock onto the stock control system.
• Rotating stock to ensure products are managed correctly.
• Completing daily stock counts.
• Picking and preparing customer orders for despatch.
• Carrying out daily FLT safety checks.
• Checking finished products to make sure damaged boxes are not sent to customers.
• Completing all required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintaining high GMP standards throughout your shift.
• Following a clean-as-you-go approach and keeping your working area safe and tidy.
• Carrying out cleaning tasks, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Following all site food safety and health & safety procedures, including HACCP, COSHH and PPE requirements.
• Working closely with your teammates to help production flow as smoothly as possible.

What are we looking for?

• A valid Counterbalance FLT Licence.
• Previous experience working within a warehouse environment.
• The ability to work comfortably in both hot and cold environments, including chilled and frozen storage areas.
• A reliable and punctual approach to work.
• Flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in and support the team.
