The Compleat Food Group is seeking a Senior Warehouse Operative to oversee daily warehouse operations at our Nottingham site. You will work closely with the Shift Team Leader to ensure goods move safely and efficiently, maintaining high standards and accurate stock records.

You'll coordinate goods-in, stock movements, picking and despatch, while upholding food safety and traceability. A proactive, detail-oriented leader with relevant warehouse experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, logistics, despatch or food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of goods-in, stock control, picking and despatch.
• Understanding of health & safety and food hygiene standards.
• Experience with warehouse systems and scanners is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and teamwork.
• Willingness to coach colleagues.
• Flexible and reliable.
• FLT/pallet truck experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Shift Team Leader in delivering daily warehouse priorities.
• Coordinate goods-in, stock movements, replenishment, picking and despatch activities.
• Ensure stock is stored, rotated and handled to maintain food safety and traceability.
• Complete stock transactions using warehouse systems, scanners and paperwork.
• Book in deliveries and prepare products for internal/external distribution.
• Identify and escalate stock discrepancies, shortages or issues.
• Assist with stock counts and audit preparation.
• Safely operate warehouse equipment (pallet trucks/ FLTs).
• Coach and support warehouse colleagues to maintain standards.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Stock Control, Engineering and Despatch teams.
• Complete clear shift handovers.

What you'll be doing

As a Warehouse Senior Operative, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of warehouse operations. Working closely with the Shift Team Leader, you'll help coordinate activities, maintain high standards and ensure products move safely and accurately through the warehouse.

• Supporting the Shift Team Leader in delivering daily warehouse priorities
• Coordinating goods-in, stock movements, replenishment, picking and despatch activities
• Ensuring stock is stored, rotated and handled correctly to maintain food safety and full traceability
• Completing stock transactions accurately using warehouse systems, scanners and paperwork
• Booking in deliveries and preparing products for internal and external distribution
• Identifying and escalating stock discrepancies, shortages or operational issues
• Assisting with stock counts, cycle counts and audit preparation
• Safely operating warehouse equipment, including pallet trucks and FLTs (where authorised)
• Coaching and supporting warehouse colleagues to maintain consistent standards
• Working closely with Production, Planning, Stock Control, Engineering and Despatch teams
• Completing clear and effective shift handovers

What we’re looking for:

• Experience within a warehouse, logistics, despatch or food manufacturing environment
• A strong understanding of warehouse operations, including goods-in, stock control, picking and despatch
• Good knowledge of health & safety, food safety and hygiene standards
• Experience using warehouse management systems, scanners or stock control systems (desirable)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The confidence to support, coach and guide colleagues
• A flexible, reliable and proactive approach
• Pallet truck, pallet stacker or FLT experience (desirable)
