Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting experienced FLT drivers for a leading international steel manufacturer in the West Midlands. The roles include one Counterbalance (M3) and one Multi-directional Reach Truck (M3) driver on an initial 3-month contract.

You will load and unload steel, operate forklifts, move stock, and prepare orders in a busy warehouse. Training runs 6:00am–2:00pm before moving to the afternoon shift 1:00pm–9:00pm.

Qualifications

• Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence.
• Valid Multi-Directional Reach Truck Licence (M3).
• Experience operating specialist forklifts in a warehouse.
• Strong warehouse and materials handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading steel products safely and efficiently.
• Operating forklift trucks within the warehouse.
• Moving stock and materials around the site.
• Picking, packing and preparing customer orders.
• Carrying out stock checks and maintaining records.
• Adhering to health and safety procedures.
• Supporting general warehouse operations as required.

About the Role

Our client is seeking experienced FLT Drivers, 1 x FLT Counterbalance (M3) and 1 x Multi-directional Reach (M3) to join their warehouse team on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a leading international steel manufacturer within a busy warehouse environment. The successful candidate will complete an initial training period working 6:00am - 2:00pm, before moving permanently onto the afternoon shift of 1:00pm - 9:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading steel products safely and efficiently.
• Operating specialist forklift trucks within the warehouse.
• Moving stock and materials throughout the site.
• Picking, packing and preparing customer orders.
• Carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate records.
• Ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to.
• Supporting general warehouse operations as required.

Essential Requirements

• Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence.
• Valid Multi-Directional Reach Truck Licence (M3).
• Experience operating specialist multi-directional forklifts.
• Strong warehouse and materials handling experience.
• Ability to work safely within a busy industrial environment.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience operating M1 Multi-Directional Counterbalance Lift Trucks will be considered
• Previous experience handling long-length steel, metal or industrial products.
• Knowledge of warehouse management and stock control processes.

Interview Process

Candidates will be required to complete a practical forklift assessment during the interview process to demonstrate competency operating the required equipment.
