Job summary

Thorn Baker Group is seeking an experienced Counterbalance and Reach FLT Driver for a thriving engineering manufacturer in Markham Vale, near Chesterfield. The role covers goods in, stock control and dispatch, with varied tasks across warehouse operations.

You will operate Counterbalance and Reach FLT, manage stock and assist production as required. This is a long-term, Monday–Friday position with weekly pay and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Counterbalance and/or Reach FLT.
• Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments.
• Attention to detail with stock, orders and deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Operate Counterbalance and/or Reach FLT to move heavy materials.
• Receive, check and book in deliveries.
• Manage stock and storage of materials.
• Pack and dispatch customer orders.
• Prepare orders for collection or delivery.
• Move materials between warehouse and production areas.
• Check delivery notes and paperwork.
• Support Goods In/Out and general warehouse duties.

£13.27 per hour + Overtime | Rotating Days | Temp to Perm

Looking for a long-term FLT Driver / Warehouse Operative role within engineering rather than a busy distribution warehouse?

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for a Counterbalance / Reach FLT Driver to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Markham Vale.

This is a varied warehouse and stock-based role, covering everything from Goods In and stock management through to dispatch, picking, wrapping and packing customer orders. You’ll also be responsible for safely moving heavy steel, alloy and engineering materials around the site using FLT equipment and supporting production where required.

The role would suit experienced Counterbalance FLT Drivers, Reach Truck Drivers, Warehouse Operatives, Stores Operatives, Materials Handlers, Stock Controllers and Dispatch Operatives looking for a stable Monday to Friday position with long-term prospects.

Working Hours

Week 1

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:30pm
• Friday: 6:00am – 10:00am

Week 2

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
• Friday: 10:00am – 2:00pm

Pay: £13.27 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Operating Counterbalance and/or Reach FLT to move and store heavy steel, alloy and engineering materials.
• Receiving, checking and booking in incoming deliveries.
• Managing stock and ensuring materials are stored correctly.
• Picking, wrapping and physically packing customer orders for dispatch.ini
• Preparing and loading orders ready for collection/delivery.
• Moving materials safely between warehouse and production areas.
• Checking delivery notes, stock levels and paperwork.
• Supporting Goods In, Goods Out and general warehouse duties.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.

What We're Looking For

• Previous Counterbalance and/or Reach FLT experience.
• Warehouse, Stores, Goods In, Dispatch or Manufacturing experience.
• Comfortable with physical work, manual handling and moving heavy materials.
• Good attention to detail when checking stock, orders and deliveries.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and willing to get involved across the warehouse.
• Looking for a long-term opportunity.
