Job summary

Aqumen Recruitment is recruiting for an FLT Driver/General Operative at a busy plastic recycling and manufacturing site in Allerton Bywater, near Castleford. The role involves 80% production tasks and 20% warehouse/FLT duties on a rotating 3-shift pattern.

You will feed materials, prepare items for processing, handle materials around shredders and production equipment, perform general warehouse tasks, and use a forklift as needed. Overtime and progression opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

• Preferred warehouse, factory or general operative experience.
• Must be comfortable with physical, hands-on work.
• Valid FLT licence is required.
• Willingness to work rotating 3-shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am).

Responsibilities

• Feed materials into recycling machinery.
• Prepare plastic materials for processing.
• Move and organise materials on the shop floor.
• Carry out general warehouse duties and housekeeping.
• Operate a forklift when required and keep areas safe.

You must be able to work all 3 shifts:

• 6am-2pm
• 2pm-10pm
• 10pm-6am

This is not a fixed-shift or days-only role.

This is mainly a physical shop-floor role, with around 80% production work and 20% warehouse/FLT work.

The role

You’ll be:

• Feeding materials into recycling machinery
• Preparing plastic materials for processing
• Working around shredders, blenders and production equipment
• Moving and organising materials
• Carrying out general warehouse duties
• Using a forklift when required
• Keeping the work area clean and safe

We’re looking for people with

• Warehouse, factory or general operative experience
• Experience in a physical, hands-on role
• Some previous forklift driving experience
• Valid FLT licence required
• A reliable and safety-conscious approach
• Ability to work all 3 rotating shifts

You need to be comfortable spending most of your shift working on the production floor, rather than driving a forklift all day.
