Job Title: Floor Layer
Location: North / North West London (Covering Barnet, Camden, Wembley, Westminster, Finsbury and Wood Green)
Salary: £50,000 per annum + Company Van & Fuel Card
Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Floor Layer to join a well-established reactive maintenance team, carrying out day-to-day flooring repairs and installations within occupied social housing properties across Barnet and the surrounding North West and West London areas.
This is a mobile role covering areas such as Barnet, Camden, Wembley, Westminster, Finsbury and Wood Green therefore candidates must be comfortable travelling between properties throughout the working day.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out reactive floor repairs and installations within occupied residential properties.
- Preparing subfloors to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Installing and repairing vinyl flooring, including safety flooring.
- Completing cap and cove flooring installations to a high standard.
- Measuring, cutting and fitting flooring materials accurately.
- Removing and replacing damaged flooring where required.
- Diagnosing flooring issues and carrying out effective repairs.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.
- Delivering excellent customer service while working within residents' homes.
- Managing your own workload and completing jobs within agreed timescales.
- Taking ownership of jobs from first visit through to completion.

Successful Applicants Will Be Expected To:

- Use PDA and mobile technology systems correctly.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Take ownership and responsibility for all allocated jobs.
Experience & Requirements
- Relevant Floor Laying qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) or proven time-served experience.
- Proven experience within social housing reactive maintenance.
- Experience installing and repairing vinyl flooring and cap and cove flooring.
- Experience working within occupied residential properties.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively.
- Full UK manual driving licence (no automatic vans available).
