Job summary

Cockerill & Co is recruiting for a Site Inspector to ensure high installation standards across developments in the North West and Manchester.

This field role involves about four days on site and one day in the office near Preston. It’s ideal for a time-served fitter who wants to stay in the trade but move off their knees, with duties including inspections, snag reporting and helper recruitment and development.

Qualifications

• Hands-on flooring background with fitter experience.
• Strong knowledge across main floor coverings.
• CSCS card and full UK driving licence.
• Good written English for reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspect installations across carpet, LVT, vinyl and laminate on live sites.
• Check subfloor preparation and moisture readings before fitting.
• Sign off completed plots and manage snagging through to completion.
• Investigate defects and determine whether cause is subfloor, product or fit.
• Write clear inspection reports with photographs.
• Build good working relationships with site managers.
