Job summary

KPJ Group is seeking a Mechanical Site Fitter to join their team in Stretford, Greater Manchester. The role is permanent with day shifts, offering a company van, pension and 22 days holiday plus bank holidays.

You will carry out RAMS and risk assessments, install and repair mechanical plant equipment, and work with project engineers to plan upcoming work. Applicants should have at least 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, be comfortable with cranes, and bring some personal hand tools.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering experience (3 years minimum).
• Confidence working with mechanical plant, equipment and components.
• Site and crane experience.
• Some of your own hand tools.
• Ability to communicate with project engineers and other team members.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out RAMS and risk assessments
• Removing and installing mechanical equipment
• Repairing and refurbishing industrial gearboxes and mechanical plant equipment
• Stripping and reassembling flanges, linkages and water authority equipment
• Working in pairs on site and supporting workshop activity when required
• Speaking with project engineers and planning upcoming work
• Taking your own hand tools, with other tools provided
• Bringing equipment back to the workshop if it cannot be repaired on site
