Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group in Sheffield is seeking a Commercial Estimator for a flooring business. You will price projects, prepare accurate quotations and support the commercial team in securing new business.

Review drawings, bills of quantities, supplier quotes and tender documents to ensure competitive pricing, manage multiple quotations and meet deadlines. Excellent numerical skills, attention to detail and strong communication with customers and suppliers are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial estimating role, ideally within flooring, construction or building products.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for flooring projects, including materials, labour, installation and associated costs.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, tender documents and bills of quantities to establish project requirements.
• Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure accurate and cost-effective pricing.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments to clarify project requirements and resolve any pricing queries.
• Identify commercial risks, assess project profitability and ensure appropriate margins are maintained.
• Prepare and submit quotations and tender documentation within required timescales.
• Support the commercial and sales teams with pricing strategies and new business opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, costs and tender submissions.
