Job summary

Linkit Recruitment partners with a long-established specialist flooring contractor in Manchester to recruit a Specialist Flooring Estimator. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, review drawings and tender documentation, and work with suppliers to price projects accurately.

The role offers hybrid working, a full-time permanent position, and the chance to develop your commercial estimating skills across commercial and industrial flooring projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical skills and cost awareness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and take-offs for commercial and industrial flooring projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender docs to establish project requirements.
• Identify risks, omissions and cost-saving opportunities.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain cost databases, pricing information and historical tender records.
• Prepare bid proposals, scopes of work and tender clarifications.
• Collaborate with sales and project teams to optimise costs.
• Manage multiple estimating assignments and meet tender deadlines.
