Job summary

Mortimer House Kitchen in London is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to keep the floor moving and ensure every guest is looked after. You will lead from the front, stay calm during busy shifts and maintain consistent service from shift to shift.

From breakfast to dinner, you’ll support a team, brief staff, handle guest requests and resolve issues quickly, all while upholding brand standards and a welcoming atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Experience as a supervisor or senior waiter.
• Excellent communication and a calm, confident presence.
• Able to brief a team, handle a complaint and support colleagues.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Available to work a mix of days, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the floor team through each shift, with every section covered.
• Be the go-to person for guests on shift, including requests and complaints.
• Support the Floor Manager with briefings, section planning and team deployment.
• Spot when standards slip and put them right quickly and calmly.
• Coach commis waiters and the floor team with on-the-spot feedback.
• Open and close the restaurant, including cashing up and handover notes.
• Keep the restaurant clean, well presented and safe.

On a charming corner of Fitzrovia sits Mortimer House Kitchen, an Italian restaurant, bar and terrace where guests stop by for breakfast, stay for a long lunch, and linger over supper. We're looking for a Restaurant Supervisor to keep the floor moving and every guest looked after.

Mortimer House Kitchen is our Italian restaurant in the heart of Fitzrovia. Our menu brings to life summers spent in Orta San Giulio and on the Amalfi Coast. Inspired by the simplicity of Italian cooking, we champion the freshest British and Italian produce, served generously and made for sharing.

From breakfast to dinner, every part of the day has its own moment. Guests settle in by our open kitchen, soak up the atmosphere on our sunny terrace, and celebrate in our Conservatory, which transforms at the pull of a curtain into a private dining room for feasts of up to 20 guests. On Saturdays, our brunch brings fluffy buttermilk pancakes, Italian baked eggs and bottomless Prosecco.

The role

As Restaurant Supervisor, you lead from the front, stay calm when it's busy and keep the guest experience consistent from one shift to the next.
