Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury dining room/property.
  • Excellent knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and champagne.
  • Ability to speak and write French is desirable but not essential.

What will I be doing?

As a Restaurant Floor Manager at ...At Sloane, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests while maintaining the seamless operation and financial success of the restaurant, bar, and in-room dining services. You will collaborate closely with our Restaurant Manager and the rest of the team to enhance guest satisfaction and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This role demands excellent communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to cultivate positive relationships.

Operational Management:
  • Assist in the comprehensive management of restaurant, and in-room dining services, including but not limited to tasks such as handling the rota, undertaking opening and closing duties and checks, and collaborating with other departments wherever required.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings and team briefings, offering support and guidance to team members when needed to achieve collective objectives.
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
  • Engage in show rounds, daily briefings, and debriefs.
  • Interact with hotel guests and VIPs, providing VIP reports to the Executive Management Team.
  • Coordinate and facilitate staff training, including regular tastings, irreproachable steps of service training, and provide consistent feedback and guidance to team members.
Financial Performance Management:
  • Meet established cost of sales targets.
  • Analyse financial data to support decision-making and forecast potential revenues and costs.
  • Exercise cost control measures while maintaining service standards.
Health and Safety Management:
  • Familiarise yourself with relevant health and safety legislation and ensure team members comply with regulations.
  • Act in accordance with fire safety instructions and promote a safe working environment.
  • Attend and stay updated on mandatory training and legislative changes.
Staffing and Team Development:
  • Assess staffing needs and develop plans for future growth.
  • Coach, train, and nurture both management and hourly employees.
  • Elevate team performance, morale, productivity, and enthusiasm.
What are we looking for?
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury dining room/property
  • Excellent knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and champagne.
  • Excellent knowledge of food with a high aptitude for learning and describing dishes with flair to both guests and team members.
  • Strong upselling skills and ability to tailor service to differing guests’ needs.
  • Outgoing personality with a passion for creating unique experiences.
  • Stay informed about new trends, fashions, art, and culture.
  • Ability to speak and write French is desirable but not essential.
  • Self-starter with creativity, high drive, and result-oriented approach.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to handle tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate the team and maintain a high level of service.
