Job summary

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is seeking a skilled Floor Layer / Multi-Skilled Operative to maintain and improve council homes and facilities across the borough. You will perform flooring works in occupied and void properties, ensuring repairs and installations meet high standards and health and safety requirements.

The role involves independent work, using mobile tech to record progress, and participating in the out-of-hours rota. DBS check, driving licence, and flexibility required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a trade-based role with pride in high-quality workmanship.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out flooring works in occupied and void properties to a high standard.
• Install welded flooring, wet rooms, safety edging, transitions, latex and levelling compounds, carpet and hard flooring.
• Record work on mobile devices, update property records, provide photographic evidence of repairs.
