Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a skilled Tiler, Floor Layer to join our Responsive & Planned Repairs Team. The successful candidate will undertake emergency repairs, general repairs and planned maintenance for tenanted properties within the borough.

You will install and repair floors, coordinate projects, mentor apprentices, manage materials, and ensure health and safety standards. A valid driving licence, CSCS card and NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in tiling are essential, with a

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or City and Guilds in tiling/floor laying or equivalent experience.
• Full valid driving licence is essential.
• Experience in carpet fitting, floor laying and tiling maintenance in tenanted properties.
• Current CSCS Card.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Flooring installations, repairs or maintenance using vinyl, tiles or carpets.
• Coordinate projects and manage new installations and remedial repairs.
• Perform cross-trade multi-skilling tasks as needed.
• Accurately complete paperwork and electronic documentation.
• Mentor apprentices, trainees, or other staff and participate in training.
• Maintain stock of materials/equipment in the council vehicle.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and standards.
• Communicate with tenants, planners, site agents and managers to coordinate appointments.
• Carry out pre-inspection and diagnostic work.
• Decide repair requirements and seek advice for issues not in orders.
• Perform other duties as directed by site agent or manager.
