Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Flood Risk Consultant on a contract basis to contribute to planning reviews and drainage assessments. You will prepare detailed technical reviews, reports, and respond to LLFA consultations while providing expert input on flood risk matters.

The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and staying current with industry and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in flood risk and drainage within highways, strong analytical

Qualifications

• Experience in flood risk assessment and drainage
• Knowledge of planning regulations related to flood risk
• Experience producing high-quality technical reviews/reports
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency in relevant flood risk software/tools
• Ability to work independently and start quickly
• Relevant qualification in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field

Job description

Our client is currently seeking an adept Flood Risk Consultant for a contract position. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the planning reviews and technical assessments associated with flood risk and drainage.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive planning reviews with a focus on flood risk and drainage
• Preparing and producing detailed technical reviews and reports
• Responding to consultations from the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA)
• Providing expert advice and input on flood risk assessments
• Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the alignment of flood risk mitigation strategies with project goals
• Identifying potential flood risks and recommending effective drainage solutions
• Engaging in multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project delivery
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements

Job Requirements

• Experience in flood risk assessment and drainage within the highways sector
• Strong knowledge of planning regulations and guidelines related to flood risk management
• Ability to produce high-quality technical reviews and reports
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
