Bournemouth Churches Housing Association (BCHA) is seeking a compassionate Floating Support Worker to provide personalised, one-to-one support to customers in their homes and community settings in Exeter. You will help people move towards independent living, tenancy sustainment and improved wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals who have experienced homelessness or related services.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Housing First model and trauma-informed care practices.
• Empathy and compassion to help people overcome barriers to stable housing and improve quality of life.
• Flexibility to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively.
• Build trusting relationships with customers using a trauma-informed approach.
• Provide regular one-to-one support through home visits and community settings.
• Collaborate with external agencies to prevent homelessness and rough sleeping.
• Develop person-centred support plans and review them regularly.
• Advocate for customers and help access appropriate services and support.
• Support customers with financial inclusion and budgeting skills.
• Encourage involvement and engagement to reduce isolation and support independence.
• Maintain accurate customer records within required timescales.
