Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking a Floating Support Worker in Rochdale on a temporary basis. The role offers an hourly rate of £16-£17 and involves delivering practical and emotional support to individuals, helping maintain tenancies and wellbeing.

You will assess client needs, develop personalised support plans, and work with housing providers and external agencies to ensure a safe, supportive living environment for those facing homelessness, mental health challenges, or addiction.

Qualifications

• Experience in community-based settings.
• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals including homelessness, mental health and addiction.
• Ability to provide practical and emotional support to diverse client needs.
• Familiarity with safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to collaborate with housing providers and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Create personalised support plans addressing clients' needs.
• Develop life skills such as budgeting, cooking, tenancy management.
• Advise on rent payments and tenancy agreements.
• Provide emotional support for mental health, addiction, isolation.
• Help clients access local services (healthcare, education, employment, benefits).
• Respond to emergencies and crises with immediate support.
• Identify safeguarding concerns per policy.
• Collaborate with external agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
• Conduct regular safety checks of living environments.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and support provided.
• Advocate for clients to ensure their voices are heard.
