Job summary

LJ Recruitment is seeking a time-served Flexographic Printing Operator in Newcastle upon Tyne to run multi-colour presses and produce high-quality labels to customer specifications. The role is full-time and permanent, with Monday to Friday 8:00am–4:30pm hours and salary 30,000–32,000 depending on experience.

You will set up, operate and maintain presses, monitor quality, fix basic issues, and work with the production team to ensure deadlines are met.

Qualifications

• Time-served Flexographic Printer/Operator with experience running multi-colour presses.
• Experience with embellishments such as hot foil or cold foil is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain multi-colour flexographic printing presses.
• Complete print jobs to required quality standards and deadlines.
• Monitor print quality, colour consistency and registration.
• Carry out routine press maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Set up presses efficiently to minimise downtime and waste.
• Work with the production team to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Complete production and quality documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow health and safety procedures.

Salary: 30,000 - 32,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role

We are currently seeking a time-served Flexographic Printing Operator with experience running multi-colour presses to join an established and growing manufacturing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced printer to join a busy production environment, producing high-quality printed labels and products to customer specifications and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain multi-colour flexographic printing presses.
• Complete print jobs to the required quality standards and within agreed deadlines.
• Monitor print quality, colour consistency and registration throughout production runs.
• Carry out routine press maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical or print-related issues.
• Set up presses efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime and waste.
• Work closely with the wider production team to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Complete relevant production and quality documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Adhere to all company health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Time-served or experienced Flexographic Printer/Operator.
• Proven experience operating multi-colour flexographic printing presses.
• Experience with embellishments such as hot foil and/or cold foil would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, proactive and flexible approach to work.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
