Job summary

GSL Education - Newcastle is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant in Middlesbrough to support pupils and work with teachers to deliver learning activities.

The role offers flexible full-time hours, daily rates from £90 to £120 depending on experience, and a safeguarding focus including enhanced DBS updates.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience working with children or young people.
• Be patient, adaptable and supportive in approach.
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Be confident supporting pupils with varying abilities and needs.
• Have experience supporting SEND pupils (desirable).
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
• Have a fully checkable work history.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom.
• Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Delivering targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
• Promoting positive behaviour and classroom engagement.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs where required.
• Encouraging pupil confidence, independence and participation.
• Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
