GSL Education are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our network as Flexible Supply Teacher in a vibrant school in Portsmouth. This is the perfect role for professionals seeking the flexibility to work in a variety of schools while contributing to the academic growth of students. Your role will be to deliver engaging lessons and provide support to students, ensuring their learning continues smoothly when their regular teacher is absent.

Key Functions of the Role:

• Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and guidelines.
• Create an engaging and supportive classroom environment that motivates students to participate and progress.
• Manage classroom behaviour, always ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the varying needs of secondary school students, including those with additional needs.
• Follow lesson plans provided or create impromptu lessons when required.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents during short- and medium-term assignments.

Criteria for the Position:

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, or equivalent).
• Experience teaching in schools, ideally across multiple subjects and key stages.
• Familiarity with the UK education system and curriculum.
• Experienced teachers who are seeking a flexible teaching life are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong classroom management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Willingness to work on a casual basis with availability to cover at short notice.
• A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring secondary school students to achieve their best.
• A current CV covering last 10 years with every gap explained.
• An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
