Job summary

GSL Education Kent is seeking a reliable Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs across schools in the Ashford area. The role offers flexible daily work and a chance to gain experience across mainstream and specialist SEN settings.

You will provide individual and small-group support, assist with learning activities, and help create a calm, inclusive classroom environment while following safeguarding procedures and school policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is mandatory.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, or complex needs is advantageous.
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN
• Assist pupils with their learning, communication, social development, and independence
• Support the delivery of differentiated activities and learning programmes
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm and inclusive classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
• Follow individual support plans, school policies, and safeguarding procedures
• Adapt confidently to different school environments and pupils' needs
