Job summary

GSL Education Kent is seeking a passionate Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs across Ashford area schools. The role offers flexible, supply-based work with opportunities to gain experience across mainstream, specialist SEN, and other settings.

You will provide one-to-one or small-group support, assist with learning and development, and help create a safe, inclusive classroom environment while adhering to safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is mandatory
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, or complex needs is advantageous
• A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN
• Assist pupils with their learning, communication, social development, and independence
• Support the delivery of differentiated activities and learning programmes
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm and inclusive classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
• Follow individual support plans, school policies, and safeguarding procedures
• Adapt confidently to different school environments and pupils' needs
